Hawaii Car Accidents

Honolulu, HI - Major Motor Vehicle Accident with Bicyclist on Kapahulu Ave after Ala Wai BlvdIn the United States, pedestrian accidents mostly happen due to the actions of drivers who don’t stop at traffic lights or stop signs. When driver distraction is involved in pedestrian collisions, texting and driving is becoming an increasingly common problem. It is one of the main causes of auto accidents in the United States. In the year 2020, more than 7,000 pedestrians were killed in car accidents. Most of these accidents were caused by the actions of careless and negligent drivers.

Pedestrians are usually more severely injured than other individuals when they become involved in car crashes. This is because they travel with basically no protection against the force of fast-moving, large vehicles and the pavement. Over 50% of the time, pedestrians suffer severe or even deadly injuries when they become involved in auto collisions.

Pedestrian accidents can happen for various reasons. However, most are the result of negligent/careless driving behaviors. When you or a loved one of yours has been injured in an accident, having an experienced and aggressive legal advocator in your corner can help ensure that you receive the maximum compensation available to you after your crash.

Negligent and unlawful driver behaviors risk the lives of millions of Americans every year, especially pedestrians and cyclists. When the person operating a potentially deadly vehicle careless or inattentive for even a moment, the chances of them causing severe injuries or even ending a life are unfortunately extremely high.

Some examples of negligent behavior that leads to pedestrian accidents include drunk/high driving, distracted driving, poorly maintained vehicles, careless driving, and badly designed intersections and roadways.
