Hawaii Car Accidents

Over 17,000 car crashes are reported every day in the United States.  About 7,500 people become injured, and more than 100 people lose their lives per day in these accidents. Additionally, around 6 million traffic accidents injure over 3 million people every single year throughout the country. In Hawaii, approximately 10,000 car accidents are reported annually, or about 30 per day. Driver negligence has risen to the top of the list of issues that most often cause American car accidents. In the past ten years, distracted driving has caused over 400,000 traffic collisions per year.

Hazardous roads, car problems, and negligent driving are some of the most prevalent reasons people become involved in accidents in the US and across the Aloha State. However, negligent driving is the main reason, causing over 90% of car crashes across the country. Drivers who choose to pay attention to their phones and anything else other than their immediate surroundings risk their own lives and the lives of those whom they encounter while traveling.

Speeding is just behind distraction on the list of the most commonly seen forms of driver negligence in the United States. Each year, over 11,000 people lose their lives due to the actions of drivers who are traveling at unsafe speeds. This is about 30% of the national fatality rate related to auto collisions.
