Honolulu, HI – Major Car Accident on H1 near the Makakilo off-ramp

Honolulu, HI (July 16, 2023) – All lanes of a freeway in Honolulu were backed up after a car accident in which a vehicle rolled over several times on Sunday morning, July 16. EMS reportedly treated five injured victims at the crash scene.
The victims were identified as three young girls, ages 11, 15, and 16, and a 53-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man. Two of them were said to be in serious condition at the time of the accident.
Reports show the accident took place on the H-1 Freeway just before the Makakilo off-ramp.
The five patients were inside an SUV that lost control before rolling several times around 11:00 a.m. Sunday. Lanes of the roadway were closed for approximately two hours.
Police in Honolulu are still investigating.
