Hawaii Traffic Accidents

Every year, more than 6 million car crashes are reported in the United States. Approximately 3 million people suffer injuries in these wrecks, while over 40,000 lose their lives. In Hawaii, tens of thousands of people sustain injuries in car crashes every year, while hundreds are killed. These accidents happen for a multitude of different reasons, however, more often than not, they are caused by driver negligence.

Drivers who act negligently put themselves and other people at serious risk for injuries and fatalities. Driver negligence has caused over 2 million people to sustain severe injuries per year in the United States for the past decade. Some leading types of driver negligence in the US are:

  • Intoxication
  • Distraction
  • Fatigue
  • Speeding

On average, over 400,000 car crashes are caused by the actions of drivers who are distracted every year. Sadly, more than 3,000 people are killed annually due to these accidents. Additionally, approximately 11,000 people lose their lives due to the actions of intoxicated drivers per year, while fatigued driving causes more than 100,000 auto accidents annually.

These statistics point to the fact that negligent driving has become a severe issue in the United States, especially over the past decade. People ages 15-20 lose their lives most often due to auto collisions in the United States. Car accidents are also among the top ten reasons that all individuals who reside in the United States lose their lives.
