Hawaii Auto Accidents

In Hawaii, each year, tens of thousands of auto accidents are reported. These accidents occur for a multitude of different reasons, however, the most common include driver negligence. Actions including distracted driving, intoxication, speeding, and fatigue cause millions of vehicle accidents per year in the United States, and thousands across the islands of Hawaii. In fact, throughout the entire United States, over 92% of auto collisions occur due to driver negligence.

Especially in the past ten years, negligent driving has been happening more and more frequently. This is most likely because drivers have more reasons to become distracted than ever today with the exploding popularity of smartphones and social media. It seems like some people cannot go even ten minutes without staring at their phone screen, even while they are behind the wheel of a moving vehicle on a busy roadway. In order to remain safe while driving, and keep others safe as well, it is imperative that drivers stay alert, sober, and aware at all times, keeping their eyes on the roadway in front of them and on their immediate surroundings. Failing to do so could turn disastrous for everyone involved.

For example, distracted drivers cause more than 400,000 vehicle accidents yearly that end up taking the lives of around 3,000 people. Additionally, speeding, intoxication, and fatigue all make up over 3/4ths of the national accident fatality rate.
