Honolulu, HI – Hit & Run Crash Seriously Injures Elderly Woman on N School St near Old Palama St

April 8, 2023

Honolulu, HI (April 7, 2023) – A driver struck a woman and fled the scene in Honolulu on Thursday night, causing her to become seriously injured. The incident was reported to officials in the area at around 7:35 p.m.

Sources report the wreck occurred on North School Street in the vicinity of Old Palama Street. Information from Honolulu police officers shows a male driver was on North School Street speeding westbound when he sideswiped a woman driving east, age 44.

Due to the collision, the man’s car spun out and was hit by another vehicle driven by a 36-year-old man who was also headed east. Police say the vehicle that spun out then crashed into a 76-year-old woman who was waiting at the bus stop.

The person who struck the woman then fled the scene on foot, headed west on North School
Street. The elderly pedestrian was transported to the hospital in serious condition, according to reports.

The other involved motorists suffered no injuries in the crash. Police in Honolulu continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident.

We hope for the full recovery of the injured victim.
