October 29, 2022

Honolulu, HI (October 29, 2022) – Two people were seriously injured during a head-on collision on Kamehameha Highway in Honolulu on Friday, October 28th.

The crash took place at Kipapa Gulch at about 7:00 p.m.

Emergency Medical Services responded to reports of the driver of a northbound, mid-sized truck lost control of the vehicle and plowed into an oncoming sedan.

The truck’s driver, a 29-year-old male, managed to extricate himself and was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the sedan, a man in his 60s, had to be extricated by emergency crews. He received on-site treatment from paramedics and was then transported to a hospital in serious condition.

The northbound lanes of Kamehameha Highway were shut down from Lanikuhana Avenue and Ka Uka Boulevard.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
