Hawaii Pedestrian Accidents

Honolulu, HI - Fatal Pedestrian Collision on Fort Weaver Rd near Queen’s Medical Center W In the United States, pedestrian crashes are most often caused by drivers who fail to stop at traffic lights or stop signs. When it comes to driver distraction playing a part in pedestrian wrecks, texting and driving are becoming increasingly common as one of the main reasons pedestrian crashes occur. During the year 2020, over 7,000 pedestrians lost their lives in vehicle collisions. Most of these accidents were the result of negligent and careless drivers.

Pedestrians are often more seriously injured than other people when they are involved in motor vehicle accidents due to the fact that they travel with little to no protection. Over half of the time, pedestrians sustain serious or even fatal injuries when they become involved in motor vehicle accidents.

Some examples of the kinds of negligence that result in pedestrian collisions include drunk driving, distracted driving, poorly maintained vehicles, reckless driving, and badly designed roadways and intersections.
