Honolulu, HI – Fatal Auto Accident on H-1 Fwy near Aiea Off-ramp

Honolulu, HI (August 8, 2023) – The Honolulu Police Department is currently investigating a collision that occurred in Honolulu that took one life. A man was killed in a crash that happened on Monday, August 7.
The accident occurred on the H-1 Freeway near the Aiea off-ramp. A bystander told responders at the scene that the victim, a man, age 46, was working on his car when a female driver, age 56, veered off and rear-ended his vehicle. The impact pushed the man’s car into him, sources said.
The male victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition where he later lost his life due to the extent of his injuries. Police issued closures in the area in order to investigate the circumstances of the accident and render aid at the scene.
According to information provided by Honolulu Emergency Medical Services, the collision occurred in the shoulder lane of the freeway at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
