Honolulu, HI – Elmer Milikini Killed in Fatal Crash on Iolani Ave

Honolulu, HI (January 30, 2023) – A woman from Oahu was arrested on charges of negligent homicide after she caused a fatal accident while driving drunk. The collision happened in the Punchbowl area on Saturday morning.
A man identified as Elmer Milikini, age 59, lost his life in the accident.
Police say the woman, age 35, was driving at unsafe speeds in a silver Acura SUV headed east on Iolani Avenue when she came up behind a tan Toyota SUV. She attempted to pass the Toyota, but while doing so, she sideswiped it. The Toyota’s driver lost control and collided with a nearby tree due to the collision.
The 59-year-old male driver was pronounced deceased on-site by medical professionals. The woman was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of an intoxicant and first-degree negligent homicide. Her name has not been reported.
Authorities in Honolulu continue to investigate the details of the crash.
