Hawaii Car Accidents

Hawaii is no stranger to car crashes. On average, the Aloha State sees approximately 20,000 auto collisions per year. These wrecks occur due to bad weather, vehicle problems, and driver negligence. Overall, the majority of the car crashes that occur in Hawaii and across the United States are caused by drivers who choose to act negligently while behind the wheel. In just one year’s time, over 6 million car crashes are reported annually across the United States. This number is extremely high, however, what is more alarming is that more than 5 million of those crashes are caused by the actions of negligent drivers. The National Highway Traffic Safety Association found that more than 92% of reported auto collisions in the US happen because of driver negligence.

Driver negligence can be displayed in numerous ways, however, the most commonly seen types include speeding, distraction, intoxication, and fatigue. Speeding takes over 11,000 lives per year in the United States while driver distraction cuts short about 3,000 lives annually. Additionally, driver intoxication is responsible for about 12,000 yearly deaths. When you or someone you love has been hurt by the actions of a negligent driver, you deserve to be able to recover from your injuries and damages without worrying about your bank account.
