Hawaii Car Accidents
Over the past few years, the state of Hawaii has seen a steady rise in traffic collisions. Studies show that intoxicated driving accounted for over 40% of traffic-related fatalities in 2022, followed by distracted driving and speeding. Driving while using a smartphone has caused the number of collisions in Hawaii to increase.
Hawaii’s car crash rate is expected to rise even more in 2023, according to the most recent statistics. The most common places for collisions to take place are at intersections and on highways. The risks facing cyclists, pedestrians, and motorcyclists are also expected to increase by 2023.
In order to ensure their safety and that of those around them, drivers need to maintain a safe speed and a safe distance between vehicles. Seatbelts should always be worn by the driver and passengers, and distractions should be minimized as much as possible.
