Haiku, HI – One Injured, Five Displaced in House Fire on Haiku Rd

Haiku, HI (October 03, 2022) – Five people are displaced and another injured after a fire ripped its way through a home in Haiku on Friday, September 30th.  

According to the Maui Fire Department, one resident sustained burn injuries during the fire.  

Fire crews responded to the scene on Haiku Road, in the area of West Kuiaha Road, at about 3:00 p.m.  

A spokesman for the MFD said that the fire fully involved the main residence, cottage, and outbuildings as well. 

The fire was brought under control by 4:00 p.m.  

Damage estimates have not been made available and the cause of the fire remains undetermined.
