A steady increase in traffic accidents has been observed in Hawaii in recent years. According to studies, impaired driving caused 42% of traffic-related deaths in 2022, followed by speeding and distracted driving. Hawaii is experiencing an increase in collisions caused by drivers using their cell phones while driving.

Based on the most recent statistics, Hawaii’s auto accident rate is expected to increase in 2023. Highways and intersections are the most common places for accidents to occur. In 2023, pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists will also face increased risks.

It is important for drivers to maintain a safe speed and maintain a safe distance between cars in order to ensure their safety. Seatbelts should be worn by all drivers and passengers, and distractions should be minimized while driving.
