East Honolulu, HI (March 31, 2023) – The Hawaii Department of Transportation reported that an automobile accident took place in East Honolulu that ended in injuries.

At around 3:55 p.m. on March 30, authorities were called to the scene of an automobile accident on Hawaii 3.

Reports show that vehicles collided on the roadway heading toward Halawa. Authorities arrived at the scene and shut down a portion of the roadway as they worked to clear the scene of the crash, which caused delays near Exit 1B.

Officials remained at the scene for an extended period as they worked to reopen the road.

Paramedics were called to care for injured victims on site. Those who required further care were transported to area hospitals.

The police department is currently investigating the incident.
