Aiea, HI – Two Hurt in Crash on H-1 near Hickam Off-Ramp

Aiea, HI (September 17, 2023) – Two people were hospitalized as a result of a major crash that occurred in Aiea on September 16.
According to reports provided by the Honolulu Police Department, a 19-year-old female was traveling in the wrong direction on the H-1 Freeway when she crashed into a second vehicle, which was being driven by a 28-year-old man. The impact of the crash caused the driver of the second vehicle to lose control. His vehicle then went airborne over the wall of the Hickam overpass and landed on its roof.
The 28-year-old man was critically injured in the crash and had to be rushed to a local hospital for emergency care.
The 19-year-old female suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Authorities arrested the female due to this accident. She was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence.
