Hawaii Car Accidents
Throughout the United States, auto crashes are reported constantly. In fact, over 17,000 car wrecks happen every day in the US that injure over 7,500 people. Per year, over 6 million vehicle accidents are reported. About 3 million people are hurt in these wrecks and over 40,000 lose their lives. Vehicle problems, road construction, and driver negligence are three common reasons car wrecks happen in the United States. Unfortunately, the negligent actions of drivers are the main reason car crashes take place in the US today.
Driver negligence comes in many forms. Driver distraction is the most commonly seen type of driver negligence in the United States at this point in time. This is most likely due to everyone being on their cellphones constantly. Even while behind the wheels of moving vehicles, people think it is necessary to look down at their phones and check their texts, emails, and social media. More than 400,000 auto crashes are reported per year due to distracted driving. Distracted drivers also cut short the lives of about 3,000 people annually. These numbers are comparable to the crash rates in the most populated states in the US, like Texas, Florida, and California.
Sustaining severe injuries in an auto crash can be a difficult and overwhelming experience. Depending on the severity of your injuries, you may be stuck in the hospital for weeks, days, or even longer depending on the nature of your accident. Sadly, some injuries suffered in serious car wrecks affect the lives of victims for longer than just a few years. Victims can end up with permanent disabilities when they sustain serious injuries in auto crashes. You may be stuck in a depressed state, feeling anxious and worried, due to the crash you were involved in. This paired with painful, debilitating injuries, and overwhelming medical bills could make for an extremely stressful time. A lawyer can help make this time easier for you.
