In an effort to answer some of the questions we at Leavitt, Yamane & Soldner are most frequently asked about, we have put together a video series to benefit our clients. In our first video, Attorney Woody Soldner talks about an issue common among injured people – whether or not to seek full and fair compensation after an accident.
While this desire not to “make waves” comes from a good place, Attorney Soldner reminds injured people that insurance companies use this attitude to their advantage, allowing them to keep more money in their pockets. Think of it this way: if you have insurance on your car, and you accidentally hit someone, your first thought isn’t that you hope the other person has to pay their own medical bills or cover their own property damage. The reason we buy insurance is to cover these types of accidents and ensure that the person who is hurt gets taken care of. If the situation were reversed, we can all agree that we would hope to be taken care of, too.
We have the best system in the world for figuring out how to make things right and fair after an accident – in fact, many other countries try to emulate it. Although it comes under attack all the time, it is effective, and you have the right to use it. It is what we as American citizens pay to have and why we are able to pursue justice in this country every day. So if you have been injured and are considering a lawsuit, do not shy away from your legal options – these are your rights, and they exist to ensure the restoration of balance and fairness for all.
